It was very straight forward to assemble, and looks to be strong enough for just about any larger critter. I have been trying to catch my very new rescue deaf dog, that got out the same day that I got her. She can't hear me calling her and of course she is not used to me. I have spotted her many times close to the house, but she won't come to me. She does eat her food I leave out for her, but so far, I haven't been able to get her in the trap. Of course that is no fault of this nice trap, I just haven't figured out the perfect method to use it to catch my lost baby.
