My wall is too weak to attach a handrail, so I looked for another way. I have attached this handrail to the wood of the stairs themselves. It has become super sturdy. The pipes fit into each other. It comes in a small package in parts that are easy to screw together. They seem not to fit, as they are a bit loose when you screw them together, but once you secure them to the wall or stairs, there is no movement. Great product for a good price.
