Great bit of kit. Haven’t used a lathe in 50 plus years and have made a couple of bits in the first few days..

item arrived undamaged in wooden crate, many screws had worked loose or fallen out but all were in the box. could have came wish a detailed operators manual. But one is available on line to down load. Also a spares list for items such as spare belt etc. as cant find a spare belt to fit if it does break, there is a YouTube tutorial for machining pulleys for a vee belt, which I will be doing, but some mods will have to be made for the motor adjustment. The cutting tools are reasonable, but a set of replaceable tipped tools were obtained form Ebay for £25. Too sum it up a good item for the money, reminds me of my apprenticeship days at Ford Motor Company.

Do your homework before you buy.
Very happy with the lathe , as soon as I unpacked I checked motor mounts and gears to ensure all tight and lined up , also fitted 3 pin UK plug as it comes with euro plug with no earth . The reason for all this was I did quite a bit of research before I bought and found all the problems that people have had , I've saved myself a lot of work down the line just by doing a few pre checks . My advice would be to anyone buying do your YouTube vids it will give u a good heads up . Tools also bought and quick change holder so will fit these then get some projects on the go .

Big problem
Arrived about a month ago,I’ve been out of town and busy with work,I pulled it out of the crate yesterday,it was well packaged, I plugged it in and tried the controls , it worked great, very excited to use it, I put in a small piece of aluminum I had 3/4” round, put a tool in and started to turning it, I activated the auto feed,it started working its way down and I saw a flash from the box with the electrical knobs,, I unplugged it ,fuse was blown and I could smell burnt , I removed the box ,there’s only 4 screws holding it on, and noticed some blackened components on the motherboard, I’m sure its toast now, I left a message with the seller, waiting for a response, I think the return date is past by a couple days, but I’m really hoping maybe they could send me another motherboard or something, It’s a large expense, just because I didn’t have a chance to examine it as soon as it arrived, I hope seller won’t leave me screwed out of $700 UPDATE: the seller contacted me they contacted the manufacturer and are going to send me a replacement motherboard, I will update again if this happens, I really hope so UPDATE: I emailed the Seller through Amazon, told them the issue. I just arrived home from another extended work project to find a package from them, It had been delivered by DHL, it was a complete mother board (whatever that thing is). So I am very pleased and impressed with the after care from the seller. Thank you BestEquip👍 UPDATE,the motor started to smoke while working some aluminum,I shut down to let it cool down, When I restarted it,it was making a clunky noise and stopped, I guess it’s toast, I read somewhere that these are only good for about 3 years,it’s only been 2,and sometimes I don’t use it for months, Now I have to spend $150.00 on a new motor, I know it’s Trudeau’s fault, not sure how,but it seems like one of his sneaky tricks 😠

Its the old classic chinese minilathe
A good purchase if you are prepared to invest some time to partially disassemble, clean, lubricate and put it back together. I knew what I was buying, but it was even dirtier than I expected, hence the 4 stars. Can do plastics, brass, aluminium. At really slow feedrates can do steel, but I would not recommend this in case that is your primary application. Also be prepared to spend up to another 100 quid on toolposts, maybe a 4-jaw chuck, tools etc.

Value for money
The lathe came well packaged and in good condition. Will be using it for hobby projects. I have given it a close inspection and I am very happy with its finish. Remember this is not a professional lathe.

Nice lathe, description not accurate
The lathe came a week & a half earlier than earliest estimate. No broken parts no missing parts. The label on the lathe is VEVOR. The tool post is not a quick change, as claimed in Amazon description. The lathe cleaned up easily, but needs a lot of adjusting. It is a little sloppy, as expected. Overall it looks to be a nice little lath and, with some adjusting, etc. should be an excellent little home shop lathe. Four stars for the inaccurate description of tool post.

The proper size cutting tool required.
The cutting tools recommended (3/8 in) are not the proper size cutting tool (1/2 in) are needed.

Go easy on it. It's just a baby!
It's a mini lathe! Seems to work fine. Didn't come with any tooling. Drive motor needed to be properly positioned prior to starting. It was very crooked. Other than that a Chinese mini lathe is better than no lathe!
