Its Ok, works

It's ok and works. But I feel like the build quality does not justify the price.

I got the still a little earlier than expected. On opening the box I found it to be a tad flimsy, all the parts that were itemised were there.I did a test run and found the still to eventually produce a good product so I will give high marks for that.A few points on the downside though which are mostly niggles as opposed to critical.1. The cooler takes some adjusting to get the flow rate to be consistent. You have to keep an eye on the levels of water as it has a tendency to either overflow or underflow. The valves are not really that well engineered and take some time to adjust to the correct flow..2. The thermostat almost immediately filled with condensation so the guage was not really that well visible. It doe not clear up. It could do with being in the condensate outlet as the readings you do get are from the kettle body which are less than accurate for the conded material temps.3. The gin/botanicals basket is unusable really because of the design. It certainly could do with a rethink. If you were to put botanicals in it the condensate would not perculate through them. The inlet of the chamber is at lid level as opposed to being fed through a pipe into the spirit the botanicals would be immersed ion The condensate flows over the top instead of running through the fluid creating head and percolation then the condensate leaving through the exit and into the worm. Useless to say the least. All in all not a bad bit of kit for the price but could do with some very inexpensive modifications to improve the overall machine.Good for beginners with a bit of knowledge though and worth a try if you want to get into distillates.

Delivery was really bad. Delivered by UPS took 5 days instead of the 2 days amazon quoted. UPS site said will be delivered on Tuesday then on Tuesday said it would be delivered Wednesday. Lo and behold a bit of complaining to UPS and bad review on TrustPilot and it turns up on Tuesday, It pays to be vocal. Now for the important bit the still. It claims to have a thumper however in a thumper the steam should enter under the contents and on this thumper it just enters through the lid and is not directed to the bottom of the thumper (should be a pipe taking the steam down to the bottom). a quick trip to the local hardware shop fixed this with a compression fitting and 3.5 inches of 10mm pipe. now the steam can permeate through the mash or botanicals in the thumper. As it was the steam would have entered through the lid , travelled across the top of the contents and go straight out of the other side of the lid. Not what a thumper is designed for.Lids seem a little flimsy but seem to do their job. The actual pot is well made and sturdy. Does employ silicon seals so we'll see how they last, only done the white vinegar run so far.

Well build distil, the stainless steel pot is not suitable for induction hob, I use a gas hob ant it works fine.Comes with an instruction manual that was very helpful.I gave only four stars because the cooler coil is to small, the distillate exist with ~30©! My solution was a DIY build coil cooler, made out of a drain pipe and 150cm long, 8mm copper pipe and some fittings.Another adaptation that I made was to place the Thumper on top of the port. This saves space and preheat the Thumper.I needed only one new fitting to connect.See photos!

That pipes is big problem, and need change gasket. For starters it's good. But now im looking for new distiller.

Nice For The Price

Recieved it quickly. Was easy to assemble. Did a quick water distill with thumper and had no leaks. The pots were thick enough, but the big pot (8 gal) had a very visible seam going down it. Hope it holds up over time. The thumper keg didn't have a down tube, but I cut some of the water line from the worm to fashion one and it worked fine. Some simple copper fittings & pipe from the hardware store would be best.Would not recommend the 8 gallon for stovetop use.Overall. A good starter kit.

Great Value!! Some Room For Improvement Though. ~ KN

A great little pot still for the price. Comes with everything you need to do a small, basic moonshine run. Expect on your best day to get ~70 oz 130 proof of pure hearts from a single run on this 3 pot 5 Gal still. I recommend also purchasing a stick thermometer, hydrometer and/or refractometer to calculate ABV potential (before) and actual ABV after fermentation/run. Not neccessary, but extremely helpful if you decide to keep this hobby.PROs: The 5 Gal, non-magnetic, double bottom, Kettle Pot is small enough to easily clean in a kitchen sink, and light enough to lift when filled up (love all the handles!). Also, can double as a fermenter, though I recommend using something else (ie 6.5 Gal bucket). This'll make the transition from fermenting to distilling much easier. Additionally, it facilitates pouring your mash back and forth from bucket to pot as a way to aerate (aeration just before fermenting is CRITICAL for yeast development). Finally, it makes straining the solids out of your wash (via a 5 Gal paint strainer bag) easier when ready to distill.Plus everything can nest in the 5 Gal Kettle Pot for easy and discreet storage. What Vevor is calling a "Thumper Keg/Box" is actually just a Slobber Box. A nice addition to have, but probably unnecessary as long as you don't over-fill or -heat your kettle when distilling. HOWEVER, adding a small down pipe (appx 4") from the Thumper input port on the lid into the Thumper pot will amend it into an actual, functioning Thumber Box. See photo included in the instruction manual (very slightly updated from pdf available online) or on internet for what this design should look like. I initially used the short, copper, Condenser Pot output extention pipe (included) to accomplish this. Obviously not what it's intended for, but with a gentle screwing pressure you can get it wedged tightly into the Thumper Box Lid brass input valve (see uploaded photos). Then cut, so it sits just above the Thumper Box pot's floor. Fill appx half the Thumper Box with wash, previous tails, water, or and enjoy a practical 'second' distillation run during your first (increases ABV %). And be sure to install silicone seals (included) on both the inside and outside of each of the two brass fittings attached to the Tumper Box Lid (this is not explained in the instruction manual).CONs: The Instruction Manual, while better than receiving nothing, is almost completely useless. Buy a book, or scour through hours of marginally inaccurate/incomplete internet pages/forums/videos. Good luck!I will say, even with perfect instructions, distilling is mostly experiential so best to just try and learn as you go. It's equal parts science (physics & chemistry) and art (experience & patience). The pots are pretty thin, but sufficient for the task. As other reviewers have stated, the included silicone hoses are thin, flimsy, and short. However, they'll work fine for many runs until you improve your process and upgrade equipment.
