I torch melt silver for small individual castings. This melting furnace is excellent for larger 60+ gram melts for multi casting sprue tree groups and larger figurine models in silver. brass, bronze. etc. It does this job wellThe power cord system is a bit undersized for continuous use. 1900 watts at 120 volts is 15.83 amps. The plug on the cord is the 15 amp standard USA design. I have 125 volts but that is still 15.2 amps. The product should have the 20 amp cord and plug and be run on a single 20 amp (12 gage wire) circuit with a 20 amp rated receptacle.1800 watts at 120 volts is 15 amps. 1400 watts at 120 volts is 11.67 amps.The saving grace is that the power does begin to cycle on/off as it approaches set temperature which creates approximately a 50% duty cycle and AVERAGE current is 7 to 8 amps.The manufacturer clearly states this unit is NOT intended for continuous operation. Please follow that advice.There are NO electrical safety or other design/use APPROVAL stickers on this imported device. Such as UL Underwriters Laboratory, NEC or other USA agency. The European Economic Area CE sticker is also not present. Purchase and use at your own risk.

Everything works very well, just as described. I use this to melt down scrap metal for lost wax casting, and this suits my needs perfectly. I can set it running and leave it to get to work melting everything down and come back when it_ ready to go. Very compact and clean. Really easy.

My teenage son wanted to experiment melting metals. I purchased cheaper thing of ebay which was absolute rubbish tbh. When we received this it was clear it was much better quality and came with everything needed. Heated relatively quickly and had accurate temperature readings. Son was very happy though now the novelty is over I wonder when he will experiment again lol...
